Veneers

No matter how beautiful she is, there is not a Queen in all the land that has never contemplated altering her facial features. Many feel that we are blessed to live in a society where such luxuries are available to us. Never in history could a woman walk into the doctor’s office with one face, and out with another. This post is not intended to sway you one way or another regarding plastic surgery. I do intend to highlight alternatives to going under the knife, in conventional and non conventional ways.

The first set of pictures is of the King of Rock and Roll’s widow, Priscilla Pressley. She was once a timeless beauty, and one day she wished to add more time to timeless. As beautiful Queens, we can develop tunnel vision on our outer appearance and obsess over our imperfections. As women, BEAUTY is one of the things from birth we are taught to strive for. The wrinkles, facial lines, and age spots were too much for Priscilla to bear. In our quick fix society,  especially to woman with financial means hooking up with a surgeon and getting work done is an easy answer. But what if the Queen is afraid of the knife, wants to save money, or just wants to know what else is out there for her.

If you notice lines, wrinkles, or if everybody thinks you are older than what you really are, try drinking more water. Water is what carries essential nutrients to your skin and flushes out toxins. Egg whites under your eyes will help out with any linage you see creeping around there. Castor oil (be brave!!) coconut oil, and pineapples applied to the skin will also help tighten things up for you. Cigarette smoking stressy ladies will also add the years on your face. This is something you should work phasing out immediately.

Remember, beauty itself is an optical illusion. What we translate in our brains as beautiful is essentially symmetric lines, horizontal and vertical distances, particularlily from the eyes, mouth, and nose.  Scientists have even found a “Golden Ratio” of  beauty- a math equation that calculates symmetry, which to the human eye correlates with attractiveness. A sure-fire way to up your “Golden Ratio” would be an option of porcelain veneers, or the straightening and brightening of your teeth. You will be amazed how proper tooth alignment (seen in the second set of images above) will seem to make you look younger, and more physically attractive, without even smiling. Tooth realignment will alter your cheekbone prominence, your jaw height, and the height of your face altogether. The gift of great teeth will enhance your beauty tenfold, and you will absolutely love your new smile. Veneers can be costly, but clear braces are a more affordable alternative for Queens on a budget.

Humpty Hump might tell you don’t need a nose job, and maybe you don’t. It is remarkable how the small refining of a nose can change a person’s whole face.  Late Queen Lisa Lopes went from the girl next door to a knockout beauty just by a slight nip of the tip of her nose and narrowing of the bridge. If you are not willing to shell out about $7,500, another alternative would be weight loss. If you lose facial weight, your nose will appear smaller, your cheekbones more defined, and your face more angular. Beauty again, is an optical illusion. You can achieve more symmetric looking features by following the instructions in the video below. Learning how to play down your double chin, accentuate your cheekbones, and thinning your nose out is all covered in the video.

HAIR. HAIR. HAIR. I cannot speak enough about how changing your hair color, length and texture can enhance your appearance. You are a fearless Queen that should not be afraid to take hair risks. If you are bored with short hair, get some hair that’s not indigenous to you!! Be the woman that you’ve always dared to be. Experiment with hues!! Here is a great collection of hair extensions that will allow you to see a new woman in the mirror.

If you are currently a weave wearer, a switch to a natural look or a shorter look will give your face a renewed freshness.  The pageboy style is classic and contemporary, and the natural look is popping up more and more in Queen’s cities.

Changing your face can be a permanent solution to problems that you can correct with temporary fixes. Each Queen must decide for herself which options are best for her. This is a personal choice that NO ONE ELSE SHOULD MAKE EXCEPT YOU. You were beautiful before, and beautiful you will remain after.  Make sure ANY changes you make are for the right reasons, and ANY doctors that you agree to do these procedures are thoroughly checked out by you. Remember, you were beautiful before, and you will remain beautiful after.
